Serve Tucson is simply a time to demonstrate God's heart of love to our city, no strings attached. Churches all over Tucson are encouraged to consider organizing their congregations to engage in one of the following projects which are TOTALLY FREE to those who receive them. Assisted Living

Teams of 4 to 12 people go to local assisted-living centers. Each location is pre-arranged by the project manager. They visit and cheer up seniors by talking, helping and sometimes bringing babies and puppies. This activity is sincerely appreciated by the seniors.

Bottled Water

A team of 12 people adopt intersections with large islands by the center left-turn lane. Two people hand out cold water and a contact card to thirsty drivers while they are waiting to turn left. The other team members run water to the islands as the supply is exhausted. Most intersections give away about 800 bottles of water in an hour and fifteen minutes.

Business Thank you

Teams of 2 to 4 people head out to malls and shopping centers carrying grocery bags of Hershey Kisses. The team enters the business and hands out a bowl of chocolates. They tell the employees, "This is just our way of saying 'Thanks for serving our city and God loves you.'"

Car Wash

We sponsor totally free car washes at up to 12 pre-arranged locations. A few people, who are not shy, cheerfully entice passing motorists to take advantage of our "Totally Free Car Wash!" Energetic people wash cars while someone gives the motorist a free bottle of water, a contact card and answer any questions they have. We have teams that washed over 40 cars in an hour and a half.

Handful of Otter Pops

Otter Pops

Teams of 4 to 12 go to local parks with coolers full of frozen Otter Pops. They simply walk around offering "Totally Free Otter Pops". When asked, "What's the catch?" they simply reply, "It's just our way of saying God loves you - no strings attached." They also offer a contact card if we can be of more help. This is a great activity for families of small children.
